Confident Voices: Stortelling Project is a 9 week program for kids & teens who stutter (ages 8-18) in NYC & the Tri-state area! Capacity is limited (details below).

We will be offering each week:
- one in-person session, held at SAY's offices: 247 West 37th St, 5th floor
- three online sessions

Enrollment for Confident Voices: NYC In-Person Storytelling Project Project will be offered at a limited capacity due to Covid-19 precautions, and spots will be offered on a FIRST COME, FIRST SERVED basis. Once we have reached our in-person enrollment capacity, all other interested participants will be invited to join one of our online sessions.

*Covid-19 Precautions:*

- HEPA filters will be utilized in each studio space.

- Masks will be required at all times for all participants and staff.

- Though not mandated, we strongly recommend that adult staff members and participants enrolled in the in-person session be vaccinated and boosted. We will be collecting vaccination status (below) for internal use only.

If you have questions about our vaccination and COVID safety policy, please do not hesitate reach out to us directly.

*About the Storytelling Project!*

Back by popular demand, our second-ever Storytelling Project will offer participants the opportunity to explore a wide range of storytelling forms. Playing with acting, improv, and creative writing (to name only a few!) participants will work together to build stories that matter to them and practice sharing them in a way that feels impactful, fun and exciting. As always, we will be guided by our amazing staff of Teaching Artists, who have expertise in a vast array of storytelling methods.

Over the course of 9 weeks, participants will be invited to give voice to their ideas, take part in great conversations, build community, and have fun! At the end of the Project, participants have the option to present their creations in front of a warm, safe and supportive audience (if they choose to). The program will be led by Confident Voices co-Directors Kate Detrick and Aidan Sank.
Please know, as is true in all of our programs, *NO experience with storytelling or acting is necessary*. We will be taking an instinctive, step-by-step approach, emphasizing self-expression and empowerment. All sessions will be structured around each individuals' needs. We strongly believe that in any art form, there is always something for everyone.

At SAY, everyone has as much time as they need to speak. Participants are encouraged to be confident in their unique and powerful voices, and to express themselves freely in a fun environment where it is really, really ok to stutter.

This program is offered free of charge. Application form must be filled out by a parent/guardian.

SAY: The Stuttering Association for the Young (SAY) has put in place preventative measures to reduce the spread of COVID-19 for the duration of this program; however, SAY cannot guarantee that your child will not become infected with COVID-19. Further, attending any program offered by SAY could increase your child's risk of contracting COVID-19.

On my behalf, and on behalf of my children, I hereby release, covenant not to sue, discharge, and hold harmless SAY, its employees, agents, and representatives, of and from the Claims, including all liabilities, claims, actions, damages, costs or expenses of any kind arising out of or relating thereto. Additionally, if my child is experiencing fever, body aches, cough, shortness of breath or any other symptoms that may be attributed to COVID-19, or have been knowingly exposed to COVID-19 within the last 10 days, they agree not to attend programming.

Do you agree to our Terms & Conditions below? (Must be filled out by parent/guardian) *
Terms of Agreement
1. Parents must notify SAY if their child will be missing part or all of a SAY program or event at least 24 hours BEFORE the SAY event begins. If your child is sick, will be late to, will leave early from, or will miss a SAY program or event, please contact Director of Confident Voices, Kate Detrick or Artistic Director of Confident Voices, Aidan Sank. SAY Cell Phone: (917)-697-7183.

2. SAY is supported by the community, and its programs are typically offered to its participants for much less than the actual cost of the program expenses. However, at this time, all Confident Voices sessions are being offered FREE (while space lasts).

3. SAY is a positive and safe environment. Accordingly, SAY reserves the right to ask a child to leave the company, in its sole discretion, whose behavior resembles the following: a) excessive violent/disrespectful behavior, b) excessive lateness or absences, c) any possession of drugs, alcohol, or weapons.

4. Attendance problems adversely affect SAY's programs, and ultimately your child's experience in those programs as well. Because of this, your child may be asked to leave the program if they are excessively absent. This decision will be made on a case-by-case basis at the Directors' discretion.

5. Families and individual participants may not make contact with SAY employees via personal cell phones, email, or social media (Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat etc.). If a family wishes to make contact with a specific SAY employee, please contact one of the Directors via email (kate@say.org, aidan@say.org) or phone (917-697-7183).

6. Individual SAY employees are not permitted to accept gifts or monetary tips of any kind from families or participants. If a family wishes to give a greeting card or thank-you note to a specific employee, the card may not be presented directly to the employee, but can be given to one of the Directors to be passed along. In addition, express agreement from one of the Directors must be obtained in advance if a family wishes to provide any edible items to share with SAY participants and/or staff.

7. For good and valuable consideration we hereby consent to and authorize the reproduction, publication and use by SAY of any photograph, picture, sobriquet, voice or likeness of my child.

8. I further give permission and consent that any such photographs may be published and used by SAY and the American Camp Association® and its agents, to illustrate and promote the participant experience, SAY and its programs, or the American Camp Association.

In accordance with applicable federal laws, SAY provides equal opportunities to employees and applicants without regard to age, race, religion, ethnicity, veteran status, disability, gender identity, or sexual orientation.
