Come to
tap into your innate needs and rediscover a healing wisdom in each one of us.
In BODY
WISDOM series we aim to work step by step at detangling myths and biases
concerning our mental health, somatic health, and holistic health in general.
Nowadays
self-care is still often understood as buying yourself another piece of
clothing, having a bath, or feasting on food. While all of these are nothing
wrong in moderation, they are not the tools for long-lasting, holistic
well-being.
What
does it truly mean to self-soothe and self-care?
One of
the most direct and rather quick ways to feel regulated, vital, and connected
more often than stressed, disconnected, and detached is to connect to our
nervous system through our body. Our nervous system connects, mediates, records
any type of connection, makes us aware of it. It is also not only a bunch of
nerve cells, but nerve fibers too that wrap all around connective tissue in our
bodies. Through our bodies we can impact, regulate, and connect our nervous
system by introducing new movement patterns, awareness of senses, new way of
safety and connecting, compassionate witnessing.
Self-soothing
and self-care is sensing, feeling, and acting on the true needs of our body,
mind, and soul.
Tools
used during the session: short intro to nervous system connections, somatic
meditation, bodywork on vagus nerve tracking, authentic movement practice,
reflections.
