Career Bound Spring 2023 - Host Employer Interest Form
Support in growing our local workforce in Yamhill County by hosting a *priority population youth age 14-24 for a nine-week internship.  Youth will be engaged in essential workplace skills training reinforced by the work opportunity at your place of business.

MEDP will manage the program and through grant funding will provide a wage subsidy of $3,000 per intern (up to $6,000 per employer) for 15 internship/employment positions.  

Let us know you are interested in hosting/mentoring a youth by completing this form.  Employer applicants will be reviewed and selected for receipt of wage subsidy. 

More details will be sent in early 2023 regarding the program and it's implementation in Spring of 2023.

There is a wage subsidy intended to support you in paying your intern at least minimum wage of $13.50/hour for 9 weeks.  The subsidy covers $3,000/intern; with a max of 2 interns per business.  EXAMPLE: At minimum wage for 40hrs/week for nine weeks would be $4,860/intern with the difference (~$1,860) being covered by you, the employer.

*Priority Populations:  The intent of the Youth Development Division Grant, is to target priority population youth in the following areas (but not limited to):  women, communities of color, low income, rural, tribal members, experiencing homelessness, in or previously in foster care, LGTBQ+, etc.

Career Bound Spring 2023 will be produced by McMinnville Economic Development Partnership and a contracted coordinator.  Anticipated work experiences will be offered in McMinnville, Newberg and surrounding Yamhill County communities.  Employers will become part of a cohort with your place of business being highlighted and marketed through our media channels. Supervisor/Mentors will be offered pre-program orientation and training in regards to the essential workplace skills curriculum the youth will be engaged with so that the "on the job experience" can reiterate these skills.
