Requirements
We're very laid back in terms of talk format and content, so whilst you're free to propose any talk you'd like, here's some notes on what to expect.
There will usually be two or three speakers at each MeetUp.
Your talk should be around 20-30 minutes, and should include time for a brief Q&A at the end.
Our MeetUp members will be of an intermediate/advanced level, wanting to expand their knowledge and usage of AWS and it's services.
We've found the following styles of presentation to be the most engaging:
1) An AWS customer's journey - information about a project you've recently undertaken, the challenges faced and how you overcame them.
2) An opinion piece (positive or negative!) about AWS and its service - what works well, what should be improved, etc.
3) A walk-through of how AWS technologies or services can address a specific problem space (demos are encouraged)
4) Talks around career progression (AWS certifications, training, specialisms, etc)
Finally, if time permits, we'll sometimes run a 10-15 minute panel discussion on the evening's theme (for example: Serverless, Developer Experience, etc).
Please note, we won't accept any sales/marketing presentation (regardless of their level of technical content).
For more examples of suitable talks, feel free to review our previous MeetUps, as well as the videos on our YouTube channel.
