With so many winter/holiday festivals (Lights at Brookfield Zoo, Morton Arboretum, etc.), what might be a theme or idea that would be unique and draw attention to Westmont? *

Instead of having the community help with decorating Holly Days trees at Veterans Memorial Park, what if the focus of community involvement was focused in the downtown area? *

What are your thoughts regarding the Holly Days Parade? *

Love it - we should definitely continue the parade.

I like it - But maybe there are other ideas that should be considered.

It's OK, but I don't know if it's necessary.

I think there might be better ideas that we should consider rather than having the parade.

For many years, the Holly Days Parade has traveled on Cass Avenue from Naperville Road to south of the downtown railroad tracks. Following are some different options being considered. *

Keep the parade route as it is currently - On Cass from Naperville Road to south of the railroad tracks.

Alter the parade route slightly - South on Cass from Naperville Road, then east on Burlington Avenue, and never crossing the tracks (which may reduce parade delays due to the train)

Maybe don't have a parade in favor of closing down a few streets and creating more of a street fair-festival environment.

What would you think about a new Holly Days concept in which specific streets in the downtown were closed on a Saturday to create a festival environment that would include music, decorating downtown businesses, 5K run, decorating the Holly Days Tree, visiting holiday characters, tree lighting ceremony, pictures with Santa, and more? *

For many years, the Holly Days Parade and Tree Lighting Ceremony have been on the Saturday after Thanksgiving. When do you think is the best time to have these events? *

I like them on the date we currently have - the Saturday after Thanksgiving.

I think the first Saturday in December would be better - a lot of people are gone or too busy Thanksgiving weekend.

I'm open-minded to any Saturday after Thanksgiving through Christmas.

Would you and your family visit downtown businesses during Holly Days if they offered specials and treats before, during, and/or after the tree lighting ceremony and parade? *

Definitely, that would be awesome.

Maybe, it depends on what the specials are.

Probably not, we're too busy with the actual event.

Yes, I have, and I would attend again in the future.

No, and I'm not interested.

No, I didn't know the library hosted Holly Days programs.

No, but I would be interested in attending a Holly Days program at the Library.

How important is it to have a ice skating option? *

Very important - I love to ice skate and I would use an outdoor rink often.

Only somewhat important - I don't think many people ice skate.

Not important - very few people like to ice skate and I don't think it's worth the cost or effort.

If this were to be a one-day option for a special event, then I'd be in favor of it.
