Not only are books fun, but some stories can also help us learn how to think about injustice, use our voices--and be good troublemakers! Join Tanvi and Trinity to chat about "New Kid" by Jerry Craft, a graphic novel about Jordan, a 7th grade boy who experiences culture shock when he moves to a new school where he's one of the few Black kids in class. Books will be provided at no-cost to participants and can be picked up at Dog-Eared Books in advance of the book club.
To keep each other safe, masks and social distancing will be required. Light easy-to-eat-with-a-mask snacks will be provided.
The Good Trouble Book Club is presented in partnership with Dog-Eared Books and Ames Pride and sponsored by Ames Pride and the ISU Wesley Center Social Justice Grant.
