This game is sort of a tutorial stage to a potentially larger game. The idea was for the player to enter levels about 3 times as large as the level you have played and retrieve a collectable item to progress to new sections and unlock more levels to explore. Each level would be its own segmented environmental story and I was planning on doing updates which would add new levels.
Mechanics not in this demo that I was planning to develop in a more complete game are:
- Permadeath, but world progress remains. Your doll dies but you take on the form of someone new. Kill your previous self to obtain the items, weapons etc. on their body. (6 items, 2 backup weapons, arm and leg parts)
- Blood Type, each doll receives a random Blood Type which alters their perception. With each death you are granted new potential interactions you would have missed in a previous life. This mechanic is to be completely optional, merely additive to the gameplay experience.
- Arm and Leg Parts as Armaments, such as bladed legs, a rifle for your left arm etc. These would be uncovered and obtained over the game's progression, upgrading your doll into becoming more agile, versatile and visceral.
- "Out of Bounds" exploration, more locations to wander beyond the core level, think of Yume Nikki
- Alterable Hairstyles
- Clothing with Mysterious Special Effects
