About Retro in Colors:  Step into the vibrant world of 'Retro in Colors,' where the spirit of the 70s comes alive in a mosaic of hues. This captivating mural invites viewers on a journey through time, blending iconic fashion and automobile aesthetics of the era with a modern twist. At the center, a sleek orange 1975 Oldsmobile cutlass  commands attention, a symbol of freedom and adventure. Surrounding it, abstract swirls of multicolored patterns dance across the canvas, evoking the eclectic energy of the decade. Amidst the chaos of color, a full-bodied woman figure exudes confidence and elegance, while two enigmatic faces gaze out, capturing the essence of mystery and allure. With its dynamic composition and bold palette, 'Retro in Colors' promises to be a captivating addition to the countryside mall, transporting visitors to a former era filled with style and excitement.

Your Future is Bright by Clancy Riehm
Meet Clancy Riehm
About Clancy: I grew up on a small Island in Southwest Florida called Pine Island. I was inspired by nature, science, and history from a young age. My art consists of bold colors and simple shapes to tell a story. I really enjoy transforming my digital art into physical mediums such as screen-prints and stickers.

About Your Future is Bright: My mural concept for the Mall will touch on a few things to connect the past and future through symbolism. The Chi Chi Rodriguez Youth Foundation (golf course) Garden Art Project (smiling flowers). The Countryside oranges as another homage. Simple graphic shapes, inspired by the 70's vibe of optimism. A Mall can actively benefit the community by adding positive memories to a shared space. My hope is that by adding artwork to the mall, it will encourage more of that! :)

VHS Mall Memories by Jason Harvin
Meet Jason Harvin
About Jason: My name is Jason Harvin and I'm the owner of Wayward Walls & Interiors, LLC. Over the past few years I've come to find a deep passion for space transformation through art & painting, specifically, geometric dominate design. My mural design work can be found in restaurants, dentist offices, law offices, corporate offices, gyms, salons, coffee shops, throughout Tampa Bay & Orlando.

About VHS Mall Memories: The idea behind “VHS Mall Memories” was to try and fuse multiple layers of nostalgia when thinking about the 50yrs of memories that the Countryside Mall has experienced. The VHS cassette tape was also released and started to be distributed to the public starting in 1975, the same year the mall opened.
From afar the mural will appear to be any standard retro VHS tape but as the viewer gets close enough to read the words on the vhs case they’ll notice it’s full of hidden messages relating directly to the history of the mall, specifically, 1975.
For example, the box showing CM ‘75, WSC ‘02, WC, ‘05, are direct references to the malls name changes since inception. With Countryside Mall being first in 1975, then changing its name to Westfield Shoppingtown countryside in 2002, and then Westfield Countryside in 2005. Another hidden message is in the barcode on the VHS case showing the malls address (27001) and the zip code (33761) as numbers on the barcode.

"Skating Towards Peace" by Hannah Lorra
Meet Hannah Lorra
About Hannah: Hannah Lorra is a visual and mural artist from Tampa, FL.  Painting professionally since 2020, she utilizes florals and bright colors in her work to highlight her tropical, Floridian surroundings.  She paints flowers in honor of her mother, and to bring feminine awareness into spaces to cultivate peace in a joyful, fun way.

About Skating Towards Peace: In honor of Countryside Mall's anniversary, I painted vintage roller skates and have flowers blooming out of them.  The skates represent the joy of physical movement and expression, as well as symbolize skating towards the future.  The flowers bring an organic element to the piece, and express peace and femininity within the mural to symbolize skating towards a more peaceful, brighter future.
