CLASS DESCRIPTION:
The Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) class, formerly called First Responder, is a “bridge” program between a basic first aid class and the Emergency Medical Technician – Basic class. Skills taught in this class include CPR, administering oxygen, assisting patients with medication, routine patient care, introductions to medical and trauma assessments, and assessing vital signs. Passing this course will certify you as a Emergency Medical Responder and make you eligible to join the WPI EMS squad, although it is not required. Please contact

The cost of the course is $300 and must be paid in full on the first day of class. Cash or check only. The course includes the price of the required text.
Students who complete this course and go on to complete the EMT class will receive a $200 discount on their EMT class fee.
This course is offered on a first come first serve basis and the first 35 people who apply will be permitted to take the course.

October 4th: 6 PM – 9:00 PM
October 11th : 6 PM – 9:00 PM
October 25: 6 PM – 9:00 PM
November 1: 6 PM – 9:00 PM
November 8: 6 PM – 9:30 PM
November 18: 8 AM – 1:00 PM
