An invitation to participate in an Audit & Surgery research in 2022, about the Emergency Surgery for Abdominal Hernia

The research will be required to collect emergency surgical cases for abdominal hernia cases of all kinds, but the most important are emergency cases, so please make sure that the center or hospital you are participating from has these operations before starting the search.

In the case of collecting 10 or more surgical cases, you will be part of the writing Group for the research where you will participate in writing it and be one of the main authors. In the case of collecting less than 10 cases, your name will be included in the research as PubMed citable group-authorship.


Research is considered as observational Audit & Research at the same time, it's great and huge research.

Types of reuired Hernia:
Inguinal hernia, femoral hernia, ventral hernia, umbilical/ paraumbilical hernia, epigastric hernia, incisional hernia, port site hernia, internal hernia, parastomal hernia and para-oesophageal hernia or diaphragmatic hernia.


We need to collect data on patients with the following criteria:
1. All consecutive patients undergoing emergency surgery for any abdominal hernia between 1st January 2022 and 30th June 2022 at your centre (The study date may be extended depending on the numbers recruited)
2. Include all types of abdominal hernia (such as inguinal hernia, femoral hernia, ventral hernia, umbilical/ paraumbilical hernia, epigastric hernia, incisional hernia, port site hernia, internal hernia as well as parastomal hernia and para-oesophageal hernia or diaphragmatic hernia. This list is not exhaustive)
3. Include emergency surgery for recurrent abdominal hernia
4. Adults (>/=18 years)

Each team will have a leader. If you think you are qualified, then please don’t hesitate to apply. The number of each team will be depending on the total number of participants.

You will be required to contact a supervisor if you are not a specialist.

What makes this project unique:
1. A lot of papers are expected to be published out of this project and will be considered as a guideline reference..
2. Your name will be assigned in every published paper.
3. You can write the paper and statistics by yourself and assign your name wherever you want after you reach an agreement with the moderators.
4. You can request to provide part of the data, whether your own or your country’s, to apply for a conference after you coordinate with the moderators.
5. The participants have the right to suggest any research idea as an ancillary or second publication for all the data and work on it to publish it from the global data group and in such case, you can propose your idea and gain the opportunity to become a first author.

Important notes:
1. The research period will be between January and June 2022.

4. You can participate in any hospital or private clinic fulfilling the terms of the targeted patients. So, please make sure that your hospital deal with the needed patient.
5. After signing up you will be contacted and invited to the project. The protocols and info-gathering tools will be sent to you.
