UNSW Medical Science Society 2023 Peer Mentoring Program: Mentee Registration Form
Welcome! 👋🏼

We are incredibly excited to welcome you and have you join our Medical Science Peer Mentoring Program as a mentee! This program is designed to help new First Year UNSW Medical Science students transition into university life and guide them through the first term of university. 

Our names are Amber and Natasha and we will be the coordinators of the program. We will be organising all the events and coordinating with you and your mentors to ensure that you have the best experience possible during the program. Please feel free to reach out to us at any time.

We understand that starting university can be a scary and overwhelming experience for many people and therefore we endeavour to make this program as fun, comfortable and supportive as possible to make you feel at ease during your first term of university! 😊

This program involves mentoring groups, in which each of you will be a part of, and each group consists of 2 amazing mentors (second or third year students) and approximately 3-6 mentees. You will gain the most out of this program if you are able to commit approximately 1 hour per week, where you will be able to meet with your mentoring group to have fun, ask questions, make friends and learn a lot about being a Medical Science student at UNSW!

The only thing we ask of you is that you please stay up to date with your emails once you join the program as this will be our main form of communication with you (especially at the start of the program)! In the past, we have had mentees miss out on amazing opportunities, including our essential Orientation Event because they haven't checked their emails.

Key things to know:
  • You must be a first year student at UNSW to become a mentee for this program
  • This program is best suited for students starting their Bachelor of Medical Science
  • This form closes on the 16th of February 2023 at 9PM
  • Our Orientation Event will be held on the 17th of February from 6pm-8pm at UNSW and we would love to see you there so please keep this date free!
  • We truly hope you enjoy this program and get ready for an amazing first term of university!
IMPORTANT: This is not intended to be a tutoring program. There are other services at UNSW available for specific academic assistance.
