2024 VISFF Selection Committee Application

The 19th Annual Vancouver Island Film Short Festival (VISFF) invites applications for volunteer Selection Committee members to assist in selecting the short films for the 2024 VISFF program.

The VISFF is seeking a committee of 5 passionate individuals who are willing to work with like-minded Selection Committee members to build a film program that celebrates diverse voices and perspectives in the art of storytelling.

Films will be viewed virtually and on your own schedule, through FilmFreeway from Nov 2023 - Feb 2024. The Selection Committee members will be expected to watch a shortlist of submitted short films and submit ratings for each film. Jury members must have access to a computer and internet to review submissions and attend a remote Selection Committee meeting to finalize the short film selections. A person who has directed, produced, acted in, or is affiliated with any film to be submitted to the upcoming 2024 festival is not eligible to sit on the Selection Committee.

Selected jurors will receive 2 full Festival Passes for the in person or online show and a $100 honorarium

Filmmakers, film enthusiasts, educators and arts and culture professionals are welcome to apply.
