Project background

Launched in 2018, the Local Digital Declaration is a shared ambition for the future of local public services. The Declaration aims to brings together the shared vision and ambition of local government in one place, committing organisations that sign up to:

• redesign services around the needs of the people using them

• break the dependence on inflexible and expensive technology

• design safe, secure ways of sharing information

• demonstrate digital leadership

• and embed an open culture to work in the open wherever possible

We recently concluded a discovery project to assess the Declaration's relevance five years after it launched, as well as looking into what we can do to make sure it meets sector needs both now and in the future.

Building on the discovery project, we are now seeking to make changes to the Declaration as a service and as a piece of content. We aim to make the Declaration easier to understand and put into action.

To do this, we need to talk to potential users of the service, such as yourselves. We want to speak to people in a wide range of roles at local authorities, across all seniority levels.

What to expect

In a 60 minute session led by a facilitator from our delivery partner, TPXimpact, you will be asked for your feedback on the Declaration webpages to understand how easy or difficult it is to use and to explore ways to help us improve its relevance and usefulness.

Please note that the session will be recorded, however the information collected will be used for research purposes only and will be deleted upon completion of the project. We will share a consent form that you’ll be asked to sign to ensure you are comfortable with taking part in the research.

Who we would like to speak to

We want to speak to people in a wide range of roles at local authorities, in particular individuals interested in or involved with digital transformation or change projects at any level. We’d like to talk to you whether you do or do not have experience with the Declaration.
