Thank you for considering AVHSD/AVC ECHS, an early college high school for your high school program. Before completing this application, we request that you thoroughly review the parent and student information on this page and attend ONE mandatory parent information meeting to determine if an early college high school program is the most suitable educational experience for the applicant. When completing this application, please make special note of the expectations to which both parents and students will be agreeing to if accepted to AVHSD/AVC ECHS.
Application Process
The application for the 2022-23 school year is entirely online; applicants will not be able to submit a paper application.  We will request attendance records, report cards, and discipline records from your current school to accompany your application submission. Please do not request records or recommendations from your school.

To apply for the NEW AVHSD/AVC ECHS program, it is the parent/student's responsibility to complete the following:

-Students and Parents must attend ONE mandatory parent information meeting. All sessions will be virtual this year. We want you to be fully informed when making the decision to submit an application to AVHSD/AVC EC High School.

-Submit two current teacher email addresses.  Specifically, one Math OR Science teacher AND one English OR Social Science teacher. More information regarding the teacher recommendations will be provided within this application.

-Complete and submit this online application in its entirety no later than .

-Applicants (students) are required to submit a two-minute video using the prompts provided.  This will replace the traditional in-person interview.  More information on the video expectations will be provided later in this application. The video will be due no later than 2 days after your video submission
Applicants should:
-make education a priority,
-demonstrate the ability to make mature, independent, and productive choices,
-succeed in high school and college preparatory classes, and
-desire to be challenged intellectually and committed to embracing education.
Minimum Requirements for 9th Grade Applicants
-2.0 GPA or above on second semester 7th grade and first semester 8th grade report cards.

-Minimal discipline and attendance problems.

-Meet at least 1 AVID criterion:
     -low socioeconomic status,
     -first generation college-going youth,
     -underrepresented students,
     -students underperforming in the traditional setting who have the potential to be successful and become productive citizens.
