2024 Timber Framing Workshop at Historic Northampton

Come help fabricate and raise a traditional timber frame building for your community.

Deadline for applying is April 2nd. We will let you know if you made the crew by April 8th, after reviewing all applications. We are looking for commitment for either one whole weekend or both weekends.

This frame will replace the old garden shed and will be set up behind the Shepherd Barn We will use rough sawn pine, hardwood pegs, and square rule joinery.

You only need to bring personal protective gear (or PPE) which means ear and eye protection as well as sturdy work clothes and gloves and a water bottle.. Of course if you have tools you are welcome to bring them. We will send out a suggested tool list with our acceptance.

Experience- To be clear, previous experience is not required. However, if we discover we have some veterans joining the crew we can bring in a couple more new framers. *
