Mini League Volunteer Application

Volunteers are needed to ensure our mini-league program runs as smoothly as possible and that all players stay active, interested, learn some soccer skills and have fun doing it!

We will be looking for parents, older siblings, and community members to step up and volunteer for the following positions. If you are at the field already, why not jump in and get active with your kids! It's also a great way for youth to get volunteer hours and spruce up their resume or for community members to get involved in our great organization. We are a registered organization for the Community Service Bursary Program and have had youth fulfill hours for the Duke of Edinburgh awards.

Helpers

  • Assist Coaches when organizing players, setting up for drills, and help as need be

Coaches or Co-Coaches

  • Plan and organize practices. The club will provide session plans for you to use.
  • We encourage all players to get equal playing time in all mini-league games
  • Rotate players between all positions
  • Provide quick short-shift changes
  • Have a positive, patient demeanor and a passion for play

To ensure a successful mini league season we break up the organizational responsibilities between 5 people.

Our Coaching Director (paid position) creates "session plans" for coaches to follow each week.

Our Mini League Coordinator oversees and helps the coordinator from each age group with organizing coaches, helpers and team sorting. They also set up our annual soccer photo session and work with our club staff on organizing the end-of-year wrap up day.

The U5, U7 and U9 Coordinators will provide support to the Mini League Coordinator and/ or The Coaching Director to organize the club’s mini programs.

This support would include:

  • recruit parent coaches and helpers
  • organize players into teams
  • communicate with parents in their age division
  • help with Active Start Festival and wrap-up night
  •  The U9 Coordinator with the help of the ML Coordinator will coordinate with Summerside and Kensington soccer clubs to create an interclub game schedule for 6 weeks.
