My name is Staff Sergeant Matthew Morales, I've been with the National Guard for 15 years. The flexibility of the Guard gave me the opportunity to attend school; attain job experience; earn extra money; and serve my country while still living in my community. Through the Guard, I earned my bachelors degree from CUNY Queens College and my masters degree from St. John's University. When I'm not wearing the uniform, I continue to serve my community as a public school teacher with the Department of Education in Queens, NY.
