Tufts Film and Media Studies Winternships are internships that offer students valuable immersive experiences in the media industries through placements at esteemed media organizations across the country. Winternship participation provides students with the opportunity to gain real-world experience in various media sectors, including filmmaking, television, radio, advertising, marketing, public relations, digital media, journalism, and more. Students engage in special projects, shadow professionals, and actively participate in daily operations at their assigned sites. Winterns are selected from a wide-range of Tufts applicants who meet academic criteria, have media-related experiences, and submit researched and thought-provoking essays.
These intensive internships take place in mid-January during winter break, typically lasting one-two weeks, and can be offered in-person, hybrid, or remote. Internships maybe offered for course credit. Winternship site announcements and applications are announced to students in early-October, with the selection process being completed by mid-November.
