2020 Graduation Contract
Graduation from Wheat Ridge High School is a once-in-a-lifetime experience and should be remembered with pride.  The administration and staff believe very strongly that graduation must be a dignified ceremony.  To ensure the ceremony remains a dignified event, the following agreement must be read and agreed to by graduating seniors and their parents.

I will take care of all financial obligations including fines and fees by May 8, 2020 in order to be eligible for graduation.  I understand that Wheat Ridge High School will accept cash or credit card payments only after April 23, 2020.  Students WILL NOT receive their caps and gowns, diplomas, or transcripts until all financial obligations have been met.

I will wear only the authorized cap, gown, and tassel issued by Jostens and will not wear other accessories or decorations, or carry placards or posters.  I will not alter my personal appearance in a manner that might detract from the ceremony.

I will refrain from engaging in any form of misconduct.  I will conduct myself in a mature and respectful manner before, during, and immediately following the ceremony.  I will show my appreciation through applause only.

I will abide by the Jeffco Code of Conduct for the remainder of the school year, including dress code, and understand that failure to do so will result in consequences up to and including suspension.  I understand that suspension will prohibit me from attending ANY SCHOOL FUNCTION during the time of the suspension.

Senior pranks will not be tolerated.  Any student associated with planning or executing a senior prank will face disciplinary action in accordance with the school district conduct code.  Any student associated with a senior prank may be banned from attendance or participation in any Wheat Ridge High School activity or event for the remainder of the 2020 school year, including prom and the graduation ceremony.

I will abide by the Board of Education policy regarding the use of alcohol and narcotics before, during, and following the ceremony.

I understand that a student who is disruptive may have his/her diploma held pending a conference involving the student, his/her parent(s), and the school principal.  My involvement in any activity that disrupts the graduation ceremony embarrasses or inconveniences any school official or school community member will result in the immediate removal from the graduation ceremony and could result in further disciplinary action.  Depending on the severity of the misbehavior, I also understand my diploma could be held for an indefinite period of time.

I will refrain from bringing noisemakers or air horns to the ceremony, and will instruct my family members to do the same in order to maintain the dignity of the occasion.

I understand that to participate in the graduation ceremony, I must attend a MANDATORY graduation rehearsal that will be determined closer to the date. Gowns will be distributed during the rehearsal.

I understand that I am responsible for providing my own ride to the North Area Athletic Complex (NAAC) and will arrive no later than 5:15 PM. Arriving any later than 5:15 pm may cause students to miss out on the ceremony.  I also understand that I will provide my own way home after graduation.

I understand that spectator seats at graduation will be on a first come, first serve basis.

I understand that if I fail to meet the requirements or violate any regulations at any time, I may forfeit my right to participate in graduation and/or receive my diploma.
