This is where you will find all the information you need to adopt one of our dogs. A home check and vet check is a requirement before any dog is adopted.  Adoption fee is $350 - $450 unless otherwise agreed upon with ROLV.
Please understand that this is an extensive adoption contract.  

The reason it is so extensive is because each dog we bring into the rescue is now our dog and will always be an ROLV dog.  We treat these adoptions as if we are placing a child into your home. This application helps us determine if your home will be a good fit. This form is required before all meet and greets.  

In filing this adoption contract, you agree to the following:
I will assume the responsibility of care for my adopted animal, including but not limited to; providing adequate high quality food, water, a clean shelter within a comfortable temperature range, and provide necessary medical treatment and veterinary care, including yearly vaccinations. The animal will be treated as a family member with loving care, affection and respect.

 I agree to keep an identification tag attached to a properly fitted collar which will remain on the adopted dog at all times, whether inside or outside the home, and to obtain all licenses required by local authorities.

I will abide by all state and local laws regarding animal ownership. Dogs must be registered and licensed within your county of residence.

I agree to have the dog under control when he/she is not within the confines of the property. The adopted dog shall not be chained or tied. The adopted dog will not be an “outside” dog.  

I will not keep this dog outdoors for extended periods of time and I understand that this dog is an indoor companion.

I will provide inside housing at all times.

I understand that my adopted animal will need time to adjust to their new home. This could last a few days or a few weeks. During this time the animal may exhibit behavior that he/she will not otherwise exhibit after he/she adjusts to their new life. This may include house-training accidents, escape attempts, excessive barking, and chewing among others.

I understand a consistent routine will give my adopted animal security and help him/her adjust quicker. I will seek out the help of a professional trainer if I need help with these issues.

I will transport this animal inside an enclosed vehicle.

If the adopted animal becomes lost I will notify ROLV within 12 hours. If I fail to make such notification, and the animal is recovered by ROLV, the animal may not be returned with no refund.

I understand that ROLV cannot guarantee the health, temperament, or training of the adopted animal. I agree to be fully and solely responsible for this animal, and for any damages that may result from its actions.

I release ROLV from any claim, cause of action, or liability for any injury or illness my other animals may develop, even if caused by or procured from this dog.

I hereby RELEASE ROLV from any claim, cause of action, or liability for any injury or damage which this dog may cause once the animal is in my possession.

I agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless ROLV from all claims, causes of action and liability, including but not limited to those asserted by third parties, for any injury or damage caused by this dog.

I understand that ROLV reserves the right to verify that these conditions are being met, either by telephone or in person and can reclaim the animal without compensation should any of the above requirements not be met. If for any reason I cannot keep the adopted animal, I will notify ROLV and agree to surrender the animal back to ROLV (contact info provided below).

Under no circumstances will I surrender the dog/cat to ANY public shelter.

In consideration of this dog the adopter agrees to pay a rehoming fee.  Fee is specific to each dog.  Adoption fees run between $350 - $450.

No other agreements are in effect and agents of ROLV are not authorized to make other agreements or guarantees.

​At the end of this form, you will find a file which is our adoption contract.  It needs to be signed by the adopter and ROLV at the time of adoption.
