Nomination for an Alumni Award

The "Distinguished Achievement Award" is the highest award presented by University Advancement on behalf of Point Loma Nazarene University. The award will be given for significant and outstanding lifetime accomplishments in a profession, academically, or in service to nonprofit organizations, a strong Christian testimony, and an impact on people’s lives. The Department of University Advancement may recognize and honor alumni in the following categories: lay, ministerial, and legacy. These awards are presented annually at the Loma Legacy Event as a part of PLNU’s Homecoming celebration.

This award is considered a lifetime achievement award.

The criteria for the award are:

Significant impact on the lives of others
A strong Christian testimony
Received a baccalaureate, post-graduate, or honorary degree from our institution
Outstanding lifetime accomplishments in a profession, academically, or in service to nonprofit organizations

In your recommendation letter please address the nominee's notable accomplishments, how you know them, the impact they have made, and their faith journey. We are looking to recognize alumni for their achievements as a whole, not just for academic excellence or philanthropic service. Please try and paint a full picture of your nominee for our committee to fully understand why this alumni should be recognized for Distinguished Achievement.
