Welcome!
     The BBHS Dance Team is excited that you are interested in trying out to be a performer. We are in need of teammates that desire to grow within their dance abilities, build new friendships, and make BBHS an even greater place through dance.
     Dancers can expect to see a season filled with performance opportunities such as BBHS sporting events, assemblies, community events, fundraisers, and competitions around the state.

*Important Season Updates:
1) The 20-21 Dance Season will be implementing an updated “tryout” or Skill Evaluation process to accommodate the new restrictions of the WIAA athletic season calendar outline. The purpose is to increase the accessibility of the Dance program to more students of the school and to make skill evaluations equitable for all.
To do so, rather than making cuts, we will have an open program for all students that would like to join. Skill evaluations will consist of a virtual skill demonstration of choreography to place candidates into the appropriate training group for their skill set: Diamond League, Platinum Squad, and Gems. A continuation of the previous dance team’s policy will persist, however, where all participants will have to audition their routines throughout the season and earn a qualifying score to perform them. Each student will have a new opportunity to audition their routines and showcase their improved skills for each performance.

2) Until the Dance Team has been cleared to meet for in person practices, training will take place remotely via Google Classroom. The mission of Virtual training is as follows:
- Engage in both physical and visual training that serves to maintain skills that dancers have acquired
- Engage in both physical and visual training that serves to introduce/build/strengthen dance skills
- Participate in Virtual team building
- Educate dancers about terminology, history, and culture of Dance

3) Once submitting the in inquiry survey candidates can expect a response email which will include a short video clip of dance choreography. Candidates will be expected to asynchronously learn the choreography and reply to the email submitting a dance choreography demonstration video. Further instructions and requirements of the submission can be expected once submitting packet.
