2020 Nevada Thespian Outstanding Student
The Nevada Thespians Outstanding Thespian Achievement Award and Outstanding Student Technical Achievement Award were developed by Nevada Thespians and EdTA to recognize those students who exemplify the ideals of the International Thespian Society.
Criteria for Selection
All nominations for both awards will be reviewed by the current Nevada State Board Members and/or a panel of independent judges at one of the regional festivals. Selections will be made based on the following criteria: originality of service, contributions of talents/service to the positive image and ideals educational theater and the International Thespian Society, and the benefit of service to productions, program, school, community, and/or peers.
Nominations
Either teachers or students may nominate candidates. Self-nomination is also permitted. NOMINATION DEADLINE IS FEBRUARY 12, 2020
Suggested areas of consideration when nominating a student are: the development and completion of an innovative project utilizing the performing art (including film and broadcast) which benefits the school or community, volunteer service provided to an organization in which the student uses skills developed through participation in an arts education process, and/or showing extraordinary commitment, dedication, and service to the organization outside of school commitment. Other areas may apply.
To be eligible for either award a candidate must be in good standing with the International Thespian Society, and be an active member of his/her high school or junior high school Thespian troupe (must be in grade 6-12 this school year). A student is permitted to win only one of the awards per year. One recipient will be selected for each award. The winner will be presented with a plaque at the Nevada State Conference.
