TAUMARUNUI SILVERBACK BOXING ACADEMY
The academy has been set up for members who wish to learn more about the sport of boxing and the physical requirements it takes to be successful in this sport. You do not have to be a boxer or a highly-tuned athlete to participate but you must have a desire to learn and to give it a go. Our place is definitely for all ages, shapes, and sizes and our classes graduate in complexity and intensity. So don’t be shy!
TSBA is a boxing academy run by volunteers to foster the development, encouragement, and promotion of the sport of boxing in New Zealand, and in particular the area of Taumarunui. TSBA is affiliated under the Taumarunui Youth and Community Trust who gives support in many ways to ensure TSBA can operate. The academy is affiliated to the Central
North Island Boxing Association, a member association of Boxing NZ Incorporated.
The aim is to support and encourage young people and in our community, by providing them with guidance to reach their potential. Our academy places special emphasis on fair play and sportsmanship, and actively encourages the development of such attributes as teamwork and leadership. Emphasis is on fun, participation, performance and technique, and being involved in healthy, physical activity. TSBA provides opportunities for life skills coaching, practical boxing training, positive role modeling and leadership skills.

SENIORS
This class is open to 15 year old and up, male and female participants welcome. Learn the sweet science of boxing. This class offers fitness drills, technique, and boxing combinations through various boxing drills, agility, strength, bag work, and pad work, with a combination of bag work and functional weight training and sparring.

SPARRING
Put what you have learned to the test in these sparring sessions, with a trainer supervising and providing feedback on your boxing technique. To partake in sparring, participants must have approval from the head coach to ensure participants have the necessary skills to ensure they are sparring ready.
Fees are $70.00 FOR 12 weeks.
