We are an interest-oriented group of students who learn and explore all things about UAS, which stands for Unmanned Aerial Systems.

UAS includes Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) such as
- Drones
- FPV Racing Drones
- Fixed-Wing Model Aircrafts

UAS also includes
- Ground Station Control (GCS)
- Networking for communication between all the subsystems
- On-board computer for Object Detection and Mapping
- Unmanned Ground Vehicles (UGV)

HKU UAS aims to gather all HKU students who are interested in UAS and UAVs, so that we can all learn and grow together, and even compete with other UAS teams.

TEAM STRUCTURE
HKU UAS currently has 2 core teams and 2 sub team. Members are highly recommended to choose 1 core team + 1 sub team. However, you don't need to follow this. Choose what you are interested in! You can choose all ;)

--> Mech development team (core team)
- Build UAS 
- Explore new type of UAV
- Create peripheral system such as airdrop/ communication/ imaging

--> CS development team (core team)
- Create peripheral system: imaging, communication, ODCL and obstacle avoidance
- ODCL: improve the program
- Obstacle avoidance (new): develop real time obstacle avoidance 

--> Operation team (sub team)

- Safety pilot controller
- GCS operator
- More operators

--> Management team (sub team)

- Financial Management
- Material Management
- Promotion
- Sponsorships
- Event planning

If you choose 1 main team and "Management Team" as your sub team, you will be prioritised for joining workshops/events/competitions.

You may also join HKU UAS as a regular member without joining the two teams above to learn more about UAS or UAVs, and choose preference later on.
