Getting Started in Backyard Maple Sugaring
Saturday, March 5 @ 2pm

Ever wonder what goes into producing the maple syrup that you pour on pancakes?  Jerry Milne makes approximately 5-7 gallons of maple syrup from the trees growing in his backyard.  During this program, he will present how to identify a maple by leaves and twigs, how the sap is collected, boiled and converted to maple syrup and discuss some of the equipment necessary to be a backyard maple syrup producer.  Milne will also share the four maple syrup grades of color and flavor and participants will be able to taste test each grade.

Thanks to Jerry Milne for sharing his time, knowledge and passion.
