2020-2021 Skating Season Registration Information

COVID-19 PROTOCOLS IN PLACE

TotSkate
A Learn to skate program for younger skaters, aged 3-5 with little or no previous skating experience.
Lessons are given in a group format. Each "tot" will have a designated helper. Skaters progress at their own rate and coaches make sessions active using teaching aids, upbeat music and a wide variety of activities that create a motivational environment and promote learning. Badges, ribbons and other incentives are used to benchmark skaters’ progress and reward effort and participation.
The Helper must be a confident skater and can be a parent, older sibling, or other member of the "tots" cohort.
Options are available to have one of our StarSkaters be assigned to your child for the duration of the sessions.

Details:
10 sessions (30 minutes each)
Sessions to start the week of October 4.
Day/Time: Sundays/10:15 - 10:45 AM

COST $125 + $45 (Helper Skate Canada Fee)

NEW!! - Multiple child discount for three or more children registered -- $50 discount for half season (ie. Fall or Winter) OR $100 for full season (i.e. full year) This will be applied as a flat discount off of the total family registration.

CanSkate
Lessons are given in a group format with a coach-to-student ratio of a maximum 1:10. Skaters progress at their own rate and coaches make sessions active using teaching aids, upbeat music and a wide variety of activities that create a motivational environment and promote learning. Badges, ribbons and other incentives are used to benchmark skaters’ progress and reward effort and participation.

Details:
20 sessions (45 minutes each)
Sessions to start the week of October 1.
Day/Time: Sundays/10:15 - 11:00 AM

COST $300.00/year

Juniors/Seniors STARSkate
Description: For those skaters who wish to progress beyond the levels of CanSkate. STARSkate offers opportunities for skaters of all ages to develop fundamental figure skating skills in the areas of ice dance, skating skills, free skate and interpretive skating. Unique in Canada, this program teaches figure skating skills in a group and/or private lesson format in a progressive and sequential manner and includes specifically designed awards and incentives. Skaters have the opportunity to take Skate Canada Tests through a nationally standardized testing system. Skaters who have mastered figure skating skills in STARSkate may also choose to pursue synchronized skating or pairs skating.
Junior skaters can still work on CanSkate skills in the Junior program before moving into the Star levels.

Details:
3 days per week Sunday/Tuesday/Friday
Sessions to start the week of October 1.
Day/Time: Sundays/9:00 - 11:00 AM
Tuesdays/4:45 - 6:45 PM
Fridays/3:00 - 5:00 PM
Includes: 15 min stroking lesson, 30 min group lesson, 1 private lesson every 2 weeks (10 private lessons total for season)

Cost: $700.00 / year

Note: Should you wish extra private lessons, you must arrange these directly with the coaching staff. Each lesson is $12. The coach who provides the extra lessons will bill you directly.

Non-refundable Skate Canada Insurance/Membership Fee ($45 per skater )will be added on to all registrations, payable once per year and valid until August 31, 2021.
