2020 Jimmy Valentine Service Award Nomination
SDMFC would like to recognize the importance of service and giving back to one's community.  These acts of selflessness and dedication were embodied by Jimmy Valentine, a Navy Veteran, Advocate of the Military and Veteran Connected Community, and a long-time member of SDMFC's Coordinating Council.  Jimmy had dedicated his life in service of others from his time in the military as well as his work in the community spearheading the establishment of the nonprofit "Homefront San Diego," which provided many active duty and veteran families with critical support in their time of need.

SDMFC would like to honor Jimmy's memory by establishing the "Jimmy Valentine Service Award" acknowledging those supporting the military and veteran connected community.  We ask all community stakeholders to nominate individuals who embody the spirit of Jimmy Valentine by nominating those who have given back to military and/or veteran families within the past year.  We urge you to nominate your colleagues based off of how they may have impacted an individual and/or the community on a larger scale as there is no act of service too small or too large to be considered for nomination.

Finally, we ask that you nominate individuals as opposed to organizations for this award.  We need your support in identifying these difference-makers in the community so we hope to have all nominations submitted by October 9th, 2020.  Finally, the award will be presented virtually at SDMFC's 10th Annual Summit on October 23rd.
