PROPOSAL DEADLINE: JUNE 30, 2024

GUIDELINES:

THE DEADLINE FOR SUBMITTING THIS FORM IS June 30, 2024. Click the "Send" button after completing the form. You will receive a confirmation receipt via email. Please ensure all questions are answered, appropriate boxes are checked, and all information is proofread and ready to be included in the program. All presentations will be scheduled into 50-minute time slots.

REQUIREMENTS: 

1) Title (15 words maximum).

2) Presentation abstract (300 words maximum).

3) Brief description of the presentation (50 words maximum). Please proofread and carefully edit for publication in the conference program. The description should be in the language of the presentation.

4) Main presenter and co-presenter(s), if any, with complete and accurate information.

GENERAL POLICIES

A highly qualified committee will select presentations based on the proposal's quality and topic representation in the field. It is highly encouraged that presentations engage the audience, and focus on effective and research-based classroom instructional practices and strategies. Only proposals that meet the requirements mentioned above will be accepted. Incomplete proposals will not be accepted. 

Notification of acceptance or rejection of proposals will be emailed to the lead presenter by July 31st. It is the lead presenter's responsibility to inform other presenters of the status of their proposals.

PRESENTER RESPONSIBILITIES

When a presentation is selected, the presenter(s) is responsible for registering for the conference and delivering the presentation. If a presenter is unable to present, it is the presenter’s responsibility to find a replacement for their scheduled session and send notice no later than August 31, 2024 to gilda.martinez@tamiu.edu.

ALL PRESENTERS ARE REQUIRED TO REGISTER FOR THE CONFERENCE. There will be NO fee for presenters.

Unidos Para Texas reserves the right to edit material such as presentation titles and presentation descriptions as necessary for the conference program. 

All hard copies and handouts for the presentations are the presenter's responsibility. You may provide printed copies or a QR code/link to share your electronic handouts.

PRESENTATION DAY

All rooms at the conference have a desktop and projection system. Presenters will be required to complete the TAMIU Guest Access Form for internet access prior to the day of the conference. A form will be sent with an acceptance letter and should be submitted to the conference Chair, Dr. Gilda Y. Martinez. It is the lead presenters' responsibility to bring any adaptors needed to connect laptops, MacBooks, or iPads for the projector. Presenters who may need any additional audiovisual equipment (e.g., speakers, clickers) must bring their own equipment/tools. If possible, it is recommended that you bring your own hotspot for optimal bandwidth performance.

Also, by accepting to present at the Unidos Para Texas conference, you are hereby agreeing to having your photograph and video taken and used by Unidos Para Texas on social media sites to promote future conferences and ongoing events.
