The subject matter in Jackie's paintings range from birds, old buildings to landscapes. In her paintings, she recalls memories of enchanting surroundings and different seasons in her travels and reading.

For Jackie, the total absorption demanded in conception, choice of colours, the light and shadows, techniques required to produce translucence, atmosphere and mood culminating in the final product is like the gratifying completion of a story.

Her paintings inspire a sense of peace. They also serve as objects of contemplation when stress and negativity must be emptied out.

Jackie Teo is a friend of Charis worshipping at Wesley Methodist Church. Jackie started painting in 2004 under Mdm Yam Yok Lun, an accomplished Singaporean artist. She learned to paint flowers and landscapes in water colour and acrylic. It was water colour landscapes that became her preferred choice.

Painting has been a hobby and pleasure to her. But greater is her pleasure of gifting paintings to people dear to her and to Christian organisations for fund raising.
