Community Input Regarding ESSER, ARP, and CARES III Funds
In  2020,  the  United  States  Congress  voted  to  pass  the  Coronavirus  Aid,  Relief  and  Economic  Security  Act  to provide  emergency  funding  to  all  states  during  the  COVID-19  pandemic.  These  funds  have  been  referred  to  as “CARES”  funds.  In  2021,  Congress  voted  to  provide  additional  funding,  called  the  American  Rescue  Plan (ARP).      These  funds  are  also  referred  to  as  “CARES  III”  funds.     The  purposes  of  ARP/CARES  III  funds  are  to  ensure  that  schools  are  able  to  safely  reopen  if  they  had  been closed,  ensure  that  schools  that  were  able  to  remain  open  during  2020-21,  and  provide opportunities  to  correct  any  gaps  in  learning  that  students  may  have  experienced  due  to  the  COVID-19 pandemic.
