Alphameets Utara @ LUMA July 2022 -- SIGNUP for prototype games to be playtested
Alphameets Utara is a series of events organized by the TTGDMY - Tabletop Game Designers of Malaysia, for designers in northern Malaysia to meet with players, to test their ideas for new games, and to playtest early prototypes. This is your chance to see for yourself, playtest and discuss raw gaming concepts, and to contribute to Malaysia's nascent tabletop game design industry. Come speak and share with fellow designers and discover the ins-and-outs of board games here and around the world.

This form is for designers to indicate interest to playtest a prototype game during the Alphameets Utara @ LUMA on Saturday, 9th July 2022, 10am - 6pm. A RM5 contribution will be collected for the the venue provider per each game designer. Please indicate using the form below, the details of your game. We'll be contacting you via Whatsapp once we have seen your submission info.

If you're coming just to playtest, you don't need to fill out this form and entrance will be free of charge. Do drop us message, however, if you’re thinking of coming so that we can keep our numbers safely to 12 people at a time. Also give us a buzz if you find yourself at our back door and we'll come down to let you in.

A note that we are still observing the following Covid-19 S.O.P:
Sanitization of hands and elbows before sitting down for a game, plus wearing of masks during gameplay.

Also note that this Alphameets Utara will coincide with GameGeeks @ LUMA which happens every 2nd weekend of the month:

Fridays: 8pm - 12am
Saturdays: 2pm - 6pm
Sundays: 2pm - 6pm

LUMA location:
37 Jalan Kampung Jawa Lama, 10150 George Town, Penang.

EXPECTATIONS SETTING QUALIFIER: please read. *
--- [FINANCES]--- For Alphameeets Utara, there will be a collection of RM5 per designer/game playtesting as a token of appreciation to the venue provider. Generally, public playtesters are not expected to pay because we cannot guarantee a good experience for them and since they will be helping out designers by giving their time and feedback. ---[ATTITUDE]--- Alphameets are generally a free and easy event. However, we expect that designers behave reciprocally: if you're a designer expecting playtests, playtest and give feedback to other designers' games too. If there are a large number of games, please expect that you might have to take turns at the tables. Also, if you want to bring a friend or two who are interested in just playtesting, it'll be great if they can come along. The event is also collectively organised: besides the token of appreciation to the venue provider, everything is DIY, inclusive of publicity, venue, logistics and niceties. ---[FEEDBACK]---If you are collecting feedback for your game, please come with the expectation that your design is not perfect and not everybody will be happy with it: different perspectives expose different strengths and weaknesses to it. It is up to you as a designer to decide which critique you will accept to further refine your design. If you are giving feedback, don't hesitate to say what you don't like about it. That is, for most designers, the gold we are looking for.
