Attend the June 2 Uncaged Art exhibit (4:30-6) and /or panel discussion “What we can do” (6:00) at Olympia City Hall. “Uncaged Art” displays artwork from children in detention.
Work with Strengthening Sanctuary Alliance to develop curriculum around the Uncaged Art exhibit
Organize Informational Events at TBH about Immigration such as Films, speakers, etc.
Provide info in Short Schrift & Weekly email about opportunities to be involved in immigration issues and activities
Participate in the Jewish Coalition for Immigrant Justice’s Book Club, 2nd Tue of the month on zoom June 6 -My Broken Language by Quiara Alegria Hudes
Advocacy

Draft and send email regarding opportunities for Advocacy on immigration issues to an email list of interested TBH members
Take action (send emails, sign petitions, attend advocacy days at the state Capitol, etc.) to advocate for immigration justice.
Support Local Organizations

Join a committee of the Jewish Coalition for Immigrant Justice – NW (JCIJ-NW): These committees currently are: Advocacy, Education, Accompaniment, Community Engagement
Support the Fair Fight Bond Fund (WA Immigrant Support Network—WAISN) to bond immigrants out of detention. Donate: https://fairfightbondfund.org/about/ Volunteer: https://fairfightbondfund.org/volunteer/
Work with Strengthening Sanctuary Alliance on one or more projects such as: 1) Agricultural worker safety; 2) Support a Mobile Home park cooperative in Shelton doing home repair and community park fundraising & organizing for the Immigrant families who live there.
Help develop curriculum about the Uncaged Art exhibit (see Education, above)
Direct Support

AIDNW—Advocates for Immigrants in Detention NW--lunch project (currently on pause) Provide lunches for detainees as they are released from the detention center in Tacoma: shop, pack, deliver sack lunches
Become part of a Circle of Support for (documented) refugees through a program such as Welcome Corps, Casa Alitas (Tucson), or word of mouth related to local refugee families moving to Olympia, etc.
Organize drives to collect clothing or household items for organizations supporting immigrants, such as Jewish Family Services (Seattle) https://www.jfsseattle.org/get-involved/groups/#welcome-circles Or Collectiva Legal https://colectivalegal.org
Direct support for undocumented Immigrants, including our TBH Sanctuary guests
