FT guides in Belgium
Dear everyone,

I like to collect the information of as many guides in Belgium as possible for a portal website about forest therapy/forest bathing in Belgium.

With permission of Katriina, who made a template for her website of NatureMinded, I copypasted her template and adapted it. I am trained by the Association of Nature & Forest Therapy (ANFT), so please forgive me when my questions are biased or unclear. I like to understand the whole spectrum of forest therapy. Please note that I use forest therapy/forest bathing interchangeably.

I ask you to do perhaps double work, because in this way I also feel I get your permission to write about your practice and work on the website I am working. Hence, by filling this information, you agree I can share the answers of the first part public.

You can answer in any language you prefer: French, Dutch, English.
At request, there is also a Dutch google form: https://forms.gle/cBAmbFzDFZL7gSTv6

A second part of this Google Forms is intended for understanding FT as a social practice in order to identify how to recruit more citizens in this practice.

With who or which organizations did you partner up  to organize a walk together?
Who or which organisations did ask you to organise a walk for their people?
With who or which organizations did you partner up to COMMUNICATE about your walks or forest therapy?
With who or which organization did you partner up to give trainings?
PART 2: Not for the website, but for understanding the social practice
As some of you know, I am also a PhD student connected with a Japanese university. Since some time I am also interested in forest therapy as a social practice. I like to understand why people in Belgium engage in guided forest bathing, as a guide, participant or partner, in order to learn how more people could be recruited into this practice. You do not have to fill these questions. You can also choose to answer only the questions you like.

I might use the following information for a research poster for a conference on sustainability and action research, and perhaps later an paper,  focusing upon 'citizen engagement in FT', so when you answer, you give me permission to use this information.

If you do not understand the question, you can write "IDNU".
Where and when did you hear about forest therapy?
Why did you decide to become a guide? What was 'the final straw', the big driver?
Do you have an agenda or vision that motivates you to do forest therapy? If yes, which?
What is the average group size of your guided walks?
How frequently have you been guiding before the corona lockdown started (March 2019-Feb 2020)? Which one is the closest to your reality?
Clear selection
Which are important tools (clothes, dressing, materials, location etc) in performing your practice of forest therapy guiding? And why?
With which other nature-related practices does FT fit (almost) perfect? ( (e.g. planting new trees, political actions , healing practices etc) And why?
With which other nature-related practices doesn't FT fit? And why?
Which competencies and skills are important for a FT guide? I  refer to the knowledge required to operate the materials, perform the practice and evaluate the outcome of your practice.
Which images and meanings do you associate with the practice of FT guiding?
Which images and meanings do your clients associate with the practice of FT?
Which rules, rituals, traditions and norms  are important to you? F.e. Do you follow standards or a kind of template that a certain institution taught you about how to build up a walk? F.e. do you have rules about the minimum/maximum distance or minimum/maximum duration of a walk?
How do you keep yourself informed about the latest evolutions in FT?
What's your strategy to build a career from FT guiding? How do you recruit new clients or how do you build and tend your community of regular customers?
Which strategies did you try, but were not effective in recruiting or keeping clients? Why do you think they were not effective?
What is forest therapy and what is forest bathing according to you? Is there a difference? Is it the same? (There is no right or wrong answer.)
Would you like to be informed about the summary/analysis of the results? (if there are enough results)
Clear selection
Thank you so much for your time and May the Forest be with you!
Lastly, is there a last thing you like to share?
