In 2003, a 24" ‐ 36" northern pike Protected Slot Limit (limit of three, one over 36”) was implemented on Wabedo and Little Boy lakes in an effort to increase the average size of northern pike. Within the last few years the DNR implemented new zone based northern pike regulations statewide. These zone based regulations don’t apply to our lakes because we have our own special regulation. There are 3 zones in the state and our lakes are in the North Central zone. The standard North Central regulation is PSL of 22” ‐ 26” (limit of ten, two over 26”). Do you support asking the Minnesota DNR to cancel our current northern pike 24” ‐ 36” PSL and revert to the standard northern pike 22"‐ 26” PSL? *
The Minnesota DNR has established new sunfish and crappie regulations on many lakes. These regulations lower daily limits on specific waters as part of the DNR's initiative to protect and improve panfish sizes. The changes are in response to angler‐driven concerns over the declining sizes of sunfish. Were you familiar with this DNR panfish initiative before today? *
