Call for Proposals - Project WILD Annual Conference 2023
Project WILD invites you to share your experience and expertise by presenting at the 2023 Project WILD Annual Conference, May 15-19, in Alaska. This year's theme is "Lessons from the the WILD North." We welcome coordinators to collaborate with each other or with your facilitators on session proposals! In the spirit of Project WILD, we encourage interactive presentations.

We are looking for 45- or 90-minute sessions that fall in one of the following tracks:

1. Engage to Empower.
-How are you engaging educators beyond a 6-hour workshop? Do you work with educators over a longer period of time through multiple points of contact? Share what has worked with other coordinators!
-What professional practices have you employed that have made your work more efficient, satisfying, effective, or engaging? From planning and organization to interpretation and presentation, share your tips and tricks.
-What strategies or practices are especially relevant in response to impacts from the COVID pandemic for re-engaging your state's WILD network or recruiting new educators?

2. WILD at Heart. Showcase WILD activities in action! Do you have a favorite activity that you think may be underutilized? Have you nailed down a great combination of procedures and supplemental resources for a certain activity? Do you have a way to make a WILD activity more inclusive? What national education standards can educators address with an activity you are showcasing? Demonstrate how WILD works in your state!

3. Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in Conservation and Environmental Education. Share your strategies and efforts to include more people -- including under-represented groups -- in environmental education and the outdoors.

4. Climate & Conservation. Spotlight activities, content, or communication strategies that focus on climate, wildlife, and conservation.

The deadline for submission is March 3, 2023. Selections will be made by March 10.

Lead presenters will be asked to submit any handouts, slides, and/or prepared notes for distribution to participants after the conference. All presenters will need to register for the conference.

Thank you in advance for your great suggestions and ideas. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us at projectwild@fishwildlife.org!
