This is a survey to understand the comfort and capacity of employers in the forestry and forest products manufacturing industries to support activities for students or schools /career connected learning efforts.
To address workforce concerns efficiently, there is a need to define and understand challenges regarding workforce in greater detail, assess the value that industry employers place on potential solutions, and measure interest in new workforce development strategies.
Your partnerships are crucial in our work to create a pipeline of interested, and qualified applicants for a stronger workforce.
The goal of the program is to create a pipeline of interested, qualified workers for the forest industry. The program is built on three core principles:
1) The program must have a long-term focus to address the ongoing challenges companies are experiencing finding qualified workers.
2) The forest industry, as individual companies and cooperative organizations, must invest more resources to recruit and retain qualified workers in the face of growing competition with other industry sectors for a shrinking pool of workers.
3) As the largest employer in many communities, the forestry industry must effectively educate students, and the community at large about the stable, well-paying, 21st century jobs the industry provides.
The survey results will be used by the Agriculture and Natural Resource Center of Excellence (ANRCoE), Pacific Education Institute (PEI), Western Forestry Conservation Association (WFCA) and their affiliated natural resource organizations to guide next steps for workforce development and to prepare relevant Career Explore, Career Prep and Career Launch opportunities for youth.
Please note that your responses will be kept anonymous and not published with the survey results.
