Welcome! We are happy to know that you have taken an interest in auditioning for an Atlas Dance Collective company member position for our 2021 season.

As an Atlas company member, you will have many opportunities to grow skills in:
Teamwork, communication, improving skills in working well with others, improving performance skills, understanding different creative processes, choreography, teaching opportunities, engaging in leadership/committee tasks/roles, and more!

This year, we are conducting our 2021 company member auditions ONLINE as a way to continue our mission in keeping our dance/arts community safe during this COVID-19 pandemic. At this time, we would like to inform our potential 2021 company members to prepare to be a flexible, adaptable, understanding, patient, resourceful, and a supportive/accountable contributor to the company--as our upcoming season may have to be flexible/adaptable with an inconsistent/ever-changing schedule/calendar due to constant changes Utah makes regarding the COVID-19 CDC policies and guidelines... Because we are in a global pandemic and we take ALL our company members safety and health seriously, it is beyond important that all company members maintain open communication and transparency with our Atlas Directors throughout the entire season regarding any concerns or possible exposure to the virus (Company members will be expected to get tested if they have 2 or more COVID-like symptoms and we ask that company members NEVER hesitate to communicate potential symptoms they are experiencing to ALL Atlas Directors via group message).

We wish to prepare you for this 2021 season by informing you that this upcoming season may be stressful at times and could cause anxiety due to the reasons mentioned above. Our team is always doing our best to hear and understand our company members opinions, concerns, while also addressing safe CDC business health guidelines during this pandemic.

Please list how your work schedule will look January-May. Please inform us whether or not you have a consistent work schedule (i.e. M-F 9-5pm) or if your work schedule is inconsistent (please be as clear as possible so we can better plan our official/final company rehearsal and Open Class schedules).

Our BIPOC "The Exchange" Project is anticipated to take a full week to produce, which would require company members to commit 1 full week of weekday rehearsals in addition to our mandatory rehearsal schedule (either Jan. 4th-8th if we decide to only invite Utah residents to participate OR Jan. 18th-22nd if we decide to invite out-of-state individuals to join us in person...requiring them to quarantine in Utah for two weeks before Jan. 18th-22nd). The Exchange is geared to provide a safe space for those from the BIPOC community to openly express, find peace within the supportive community we build inside the rehearsal space, and to develop a collaborative production incorporating stories and lived out experiences of BIPOC members who participate in The Exchange project through generated movement and spoken word.

*This project is optional for company members to choose to be a part of. Those who commit to this project as a performing participant are expected to prioritize their commitment by staying accountable for what they signed up for. Company Members will not be permitted to join the project as a performing participant if the process has already begun. **PLEASE CHOOSE FROM THE OPTIONS BELOW if you 100% want to participate and prioritize The Exchange project in your personal calendars. Daily participation is expected and required for those signing up to be a part of The Exchange. Please select the options that work best for your availability and use "other" to inform us of other scheduling/time options that might work better for you to participate in the project.

*Note: As a choreographer, the directors of Atlas Dance Collective expect you to come prepared to your allotted rehearsal time with material to set and direct on your company cast members. If at any time, for an extenuating circumstance, you are NOT prepared for your rehearsal block, the directors will make the designated decision to review your choreographic progress and determine if rehearsal time is being well used. If it is not considered productive, your company members will be excused, or your allotted rehearsal time will be used for any other company repertory. No additional rehearsal time beyond the allotted blocks will be given to choreographers. IF additional rehearsal time is needed, choreographers are required to arrange those individually with their cast members.

Assistant Director (Assists Director in making official company business decisions and assists leading the entire company. Fully supports and assists the director to execute their vision for Atlas and has many extra meetings with the Director to discuss urgent/important matters. MUST have good communication skills and a patient/calm demeanor)

Rehearsal Assistant (Assists Directors in cleaning company dances)

Concert Committee (Plans, Organizes, and Finalizes Concert Venue reservations)

Marketing (Designs social media posts, Concert Program designing, website editing/suggestions, and other Marketing duties. Should have experience with Adobe programs or other professional programs that make great marketing content)

Social Media (sharing events, tagging people to events/posts, posting as Atlas, Sharing posts, etc.)

Fundraising Committee (Assists Director in Budgeting, planning Fundraising Outreach, Sponsorship Outreach, Grant writing, etc.)

As a Company Member for Atlas Dance Collective, there are opportunities to grow with the company. This season we are going to start offering Apprentice roles as well as a track to improve Leadership skills and another track to develop the skills it will take to become an Atlas Co-owner through our Atlas Co-owner Mentorship track. Please select below which tracks you would like to be a part of to continue your growth:

Apprentice: Cost = $20/month (an apprentice will understudy company members and learns the main company dances. They also have the possibility of being selected to perform in Company Member Choreography for that season)

Leadership Building: Cost = $40/month (Provides you resources to improve your leadership skills and includes goal setting and counseling with the directors of Atlas Dance Collective)

Co-owner Mentorship Track (4-year certification program): Cost = $150/month (This track is required for the Atlas Assistant Director. It is expected for the Atlas Assistant Director to grow a sense of ownership in the company. This is an optional track for other company members who are interested in this program to sign up for as well, but they must have been a company member for 2 years or longer OR participated in the Leadership Building track for 1 year. In this Co-owner mentorship program, we will begin setting the foundation for how to turn Atlas into a franchise, bring in speakers, do business goal setting and planning, build leadership skills, and to develop the skills needed that our directors and co-owners need. Once you complete the 4-year Co-owner mentorship program, you will be given a certificate and a check of at least $4,000 to put towards your first year of Atlas Business Ownership and our director/CEO will continue mentoring you on how to wisely spend/invest that money to give you the utmost success as a new Atlas Dance Collective LLC business owner/director. If you do not complete the 4-year certification program, you will NOT receive anything back for the months of education and mentorship Atlas provided you.)
