Please join us for the Wellness Event @ WCI taking place on Tuesday, April 16, 2024.
Purpose: provide information to the school community about the impact of stress on mental health & wellbeing for adolescents, and to share relevant community resources available in York Region. Doors will open at 6:30 pm, with a formal presentation starting at 7:00 pm.
An update on our Wellness Event: The Honorable Dr. Jean Augustine has just
found out that she must be in Geneva for The Summit to end the United Nations
Decade for Persons of African Descent next week. What an incredible
honour! We want to thank Dr. Augustine for her support for the Westmount
CI Wellness Event as she has also helped to arrange for another incredible
speaker to provide the keynote address. We are excited to have Ginelle
Skerritt joining us. Ms. Skerritt has over 30 years of leadership
experience during which time she has focused on community development with
youth, women and families. She combines a community-centred approach that
considers the social determinants of health with a strong grounding in equity
practice. We are so pleased she will be joining us and look forward to
her insights on supporting the well-being of youth.
Following the formal presentation, families are invited to connect with a variety of community organizations who have resources to share with families.
