The Lab Ambler: Winter/Spring Coached Longform Ensemble (Harold)
Our mission is to provide committed performers over 18 with a deep interest in comedy and collaboration an opportunity to rehearse and perform with like-minded peers. Our coaches and teachers are working comedians who have trained at Second City, Improv Olympic and Upright Citizen Brigade and beyond.

We are currently inviting adults (18+) with formal improv experience to submit for a coached longform troupe. This session will combine longform classroom instruction with stage time over a 12-14 week period. For this session we will focus on performance of Harold which focuses on character and relationship heightening, and interweaving those to explore themes.

Things to know:

Student Profile
Prospective troupe members should know the fundamentals of improv and demonstrate good listening and collaboration skills. Class experience can be outside of Improv Ambler/The Lab or another school of acting/comedy.

The coached ensemble format is ideal for players that have taken improv classes and are interested in diving deeper into longform.

Rehearsals and Shows
Troupe members will offered a 75 minute, weekly coaching session by a Lab instructor, to be held at the theater (85 E Butler Ave). Troupes will also have a monthly show that is open to the public, friends and families.

Fees
The cost for the program is $305 and includes the coaching and classroom fees.

Commitment
Those placed on a troupe should commit to attend weekly rehearsals (2/16 through 5/25) and monthly shows. No rehearsals will occur on 2/23 or 4/6. Observance of religious holidays are excluded from the missed rehearsal policy and excused.

Covid Policy
Anyone who is sick is asked to stay at home. We will not require masks or vaccination to participate. We welcome those more comfortable with masking to wear them.
