Description: Intuitive Playwriting is the art of tapping into one’s innate creativity and imagination with the focus of bringing forth and unveiling a story yet to be told. It is being the vehicle, the “hollow reed” that “listens” and allows characters to tell their story while being the objective facilitator, usher, conductor in the development of the world that is being constructed. It is NOT, random musings or disconnected plot lines, but an organic process of combing the technical with the “intuitive” aspects of playwriting such as:
1. Inciting incident
2. Protagonist
3. Plot
4. Conflict
5. Resolve
6. The art of dialogue
By allowing one’s characters to be “in charge” of the narration and the playwright to be the protective steward and guide along the way, a much more in depth, organic, emotional authenticity and engaging work evolves.
Fee: $240 for residents and non-residents. Scholarships available!
