Thank you for your interest in volunteering with Ligonier Ministries! Please read the information below in its entirety and complete the application to apply for a volunteer position at Ligonier Ministries’ 2024 National Conference in Orlando, FL, on May 23-25. Each person serving must complete their own application, including minors. All applications will be reviewed and responded to in the order in which they were received.

Parking at Rosen Shingle Creek will be $15.00 per vehicle, per day.

VOLUNTEER REQUIREMENTS

All volunteers must be a citizen of the United States or Canada, and over the age of 13. Volunteers under the age of 18 must serve alongside a parent or guardian in the same role. All volunteers must agree to adhere to all conference related policies and instructions, to fulfill your allotted duties as requested, and to be present for your shifts as assigned, as stated on the Volunteer Acknowledgment and Agreement form below. 

VOLUNTEER BENEFITS
If you are selected to be a volunteer, Ligonier Ministries would like to thank you for your labors during the conference by waiving your registration fee. Since we will register you as a volunteer, there is no need for you to register as a regular attendee. If you have already registered for this conference, please let us know in the application below or email us at volunteer@ligonier.org, and we will process a refund should you be accepted. As a volunteer, you will still have the opportunity to attend the sessions during the conference.

DRESS CODE
For most volunteer roles: Men should wear dress trousers, shirt and tie with optional jacket. Women should wear slacks, skirt, blouse and/or dress. All volunteers should wear comfortable shoes.
(Please see below descriptions for position-specific dress code requirements).

MEALS
Meals are NOT provided for volunteers. There will be various food vendors on-site throughout the conference with food and drinks available for purchase. Ligonier will provide a secure room for Volunteers to keep their belongings and take breaks throughout the conference.

MEDIA PERMISSION
You agree that by entering the premises of this event, you enter an area where photography, audio, and video recording may occur. By your appearance and participation in this event, you grant Ligonier Ministries, its subsidiaries, and affiliates permission to utilize your name, image, likeness, voice, and statements in any live or recorded audio, video, or photographic display or other transmission, exhibition, publication or reproduction made in connection with, or at, the event for all purposes, in any manner, in any medium, now known or hereafter developed, without further authorization from, or compensation to, you or anyone acting on your behalf.

EVENT VENUE
Ligonier Ministries holds events in the most suitable venues available. We consider many factors in making these decisions, including location, size, cost, and dates. To secure a venue, bookings are often made years in advance. Furthermore, our holding an event at a venue should not be considered an endorsement of that venue’s owner or association (whether Christian or non-Christian).

VOLUNTEER POSITIONS

SETUP/TEARDOWN
These volunteers will perform the physical labor required in setting up AND tearing down the conference bookstore and other areas. This position is for people who can serve through manual work. Responsibilities include carrying and unpacking boxes, displaying products (books, DVDs, etc.), assembling signs, and assisting with other miscellaneous duties. Post-conference responsibilities include packing and carrying boxes, loading boxes onto pallets for shipment, and other miscellaneous cleanup activities. The dress code is "appropriate casual" (Men- Shorts/Jeans/Pants, with a t-shirt or Polo shirt, closed-toe shoes. Women- capris/jeans/pants (no short-shorts), with t-shirt, polo or blouse, closed-toe shoes). Please do not wear ripped clothing of any kind. Volunteers must plan to serve both Setup and Teardown to be accepted. All Setup/Teardown volunteers must be over the age of 18 at the time of the event. 

Physical Requirements: Lifting up to 50 lbs, being on your feet for up to 4 hours at a time. Not recommended for anyone with back or neck problems. 

General Schedule:
Wednesday, May 22 - 8:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m.
Saturday, May 25 - 12:00–4:00 p.m. 


CASHIER
Cashiers will work in the conference bookstore. Duties include scanning products, accepting payments, answering basic questions, and restocking products in the bookstore. Cashiers will be scheduled during all bookstore hours, including bookstore breaks, meal breaks, and before/after the bookstore opens/closes. Cashiers may miss some parts of some sessions of the conference. Volunteers will handle credit cards only, no cash. All cashiers must wear dark dress pants or skirts and a white dress shirt or blouse. 

Physical Requirements: Standing for 1-2 hours at a time, lifting up to 20 lbs, kneeling.

General Schedule:
Thursday, May 23 - 9:00 a.m.-8:30 p.m.
Friday, May 24 - 7:30 a.m.-9:00 p.m.
Saturday, May 25 - 7:00 a.m.-11:30 a.m.


CASHIER ASSISTANT
Cashier assistants will work in the conference bookstore with the cashiers to expedite the checkout process. Duties include bagging products, distributing receipts, and restocking products in the bookstore. Cashier assistants will be scheduled during bookstore breaks, meal breaks, and before/after the bookstore opens/closes throughout the conference. Volunteers must wear dark dress pants or skirts and a white dress shirt or blouse.

Physical Requirements: Standing for 1-2 hours at a time, lifting up to 20 lbs, kneeling.

General Schedule:
Thursday, May 23 - 9:00 a.m.-8:30 p.m.
Friday, May 24 - 7:30 a.m.-9:00 p.m.
Saturday, May 25 - 7:00 a.m.-11:30 a.m.


WELCOME TEAM 
Welcome volunteers greet and assist attendees arriving at the conference. These volunteers enjoy interacting with people, and their responsibilities include handing out welcome bags, directing people traffic, offering general assistance to guests, and greeting people as they arrive. Welcome volunteers will be on their feet for long periods of time and may miss some parts of the sessions on Thursday and Friday mornings.

Physical Requirements: Standing up to 3 hours at a time. Lifting up to 20 lbs may be required.

General Schedule:
Thursday, May 23 - 9:00 a.m.–5:30 p.m. 
Friday, May 24 - 7:30–9:00 a.m.


REGISTRATION 
Registration volunteers assist with Name Badge Pickup and Assistance. These volunteers assist staff members in sorting through and distributing attendee name badges, answering general conference questions, and working in a fast-paced environment. These volunteers should be fluent in English and comfortable alphabetizing. Registration volunteers will be on their feet for long periods of time and may miss some parts of the sessions on Thursday and Friday mornings. 

Physical Requirements: Standing up to 3 hours at a time. Lifting up to 20 lbs may be required.

General Schedule:
Thursday, May 23 - 9:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m.
Friday, May 24 - 7:30–11:30 a.m.


USHER
Ushers welcome attendees into the main auditorium, assist with distributing welcome bags, ensure everyone has a name badge, assist in seating people, and answer general conference questions. In addition, ushers will open and close doors before and after each conference session and will manage reserved and handicapped sections. Ushers should be at their assigned door 30 minutes prior to each session.

Physical Requirements: Standing and walking for long periods of time. Lifting up to 20 lbs may be required.

Friday, May 24 - 7:30 a.m.-9:00 p.m.
Saturday, May 25 - 7:00 a.m.-11:30 a.m.


INFORMATION BOOTH
Information booth volunteers have detailed knowledge of the conference, Ligonier, and the surrounding area. They enjoy interacting with people and answering questions regarding conference information, nearby restaurants, etc. These volunteers are also responsible for managing the Lost & Found and Assisted Listening Devices. Information booth volunteers will work between sessions, during bookstore and meal breaks, and before/after the conference opens/closes. Information booth volunteers may miss parts of some sessions. Information booth volunteers should wear comfortable shoes, as there may be extended periods of standing required.

Physical Requirements: Standing for 1-3 hours at a time, kneeling, and lifting up to 20 lbs.

Thursday, May 23 - 9:00 a.m.-8:30 p.m.
Friday, May 24 - 7:30 a.m.-9:00 p.m.
Saturday, May 25 - 7:00 a.m.-11:30 a.m.


PODCAST STUDIO
Podcast Studio volunteers love interacting with guests and are familiar with the outreach of Ligonier Podcasts, including Renewing Your Mind. Volunteer responsibilities include answering basic questions about Ligonier Podcasts and monitoring the live interviews held at the booth. These volunteers may miss some conference sessions and will be on their feet for long periods of time. 

Physical Requirements: Standing for 1-2 hours at a time.

General Schedule:
Thursday, May 23 - 9:00 a.m.-8:30 p.m.
Friday, May 24 - 7:30 a.m.-9:00 p.m.
Saturday, May 25 - 7:00 a.m.-11:30 a.m.


ON-CALL
On-call volunteers assist with last-minute needs that arise throughout the conference. These volunteers enjoy helping with anything to get the job done quickly and efficiently.  They are truly on call and don't mind being pulled away from the middle of a conference session to serve in whatever capacity necessary. These volunteers enjoy work that requires manual labor, such as moving tables or heavy boxes. These volunteers must have access to a cell phone with texting capabilities and must remain on-site throughout the conference unless otherwise discussed with their Lead.

Physical Requirements: Lifting up to 50 lbs, standing for long periods of time.

Thursday, May 23 - 9:00 a.m.-8:30 p.m.
Friday, May 24 - 7:30 a.m.-9:00 p.m.
Saturday, May 25 - 7:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m.
