ZOOM CALL FOR LGBTQ-IDENTIFIED LOCAL PROGRAM STAFF AT NC'S RAPE CRISIS CENTERS AND OTHER NCCASA MEMBER AGENCIES! Calls are on the first Monday of every OTHER month from 10:00-11:30 am.

At NCCASA, we believe in creating space for program staff to show up as their full selves. We know that trauma workers and anti-violence staff who are allowed to be whole people in their workplaces have higher job satisfaction and less burnout, and yet we also recognize the complex factors that shape whether employees choose to be out as LGBTQ+ in their workplaces. Beginning the end of April, we plan to offer a series of recurring Zoom-based gatherings for staff at member programs who are lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex, or queer to come together to share solutions and support.

- These calls are ONLY for staff who identify as LGBTQ+. We love our allies, and encourage you to show your support by continuing to attend webinars and professional development to learn how to be better allies, providers, and friends, and by allowing this to be an LGBTQ+ only space.
- Registration lists are kept confidential to NCCASA and will not be shared with others in your agency, and you are welcome to register using a personal email if you’d prefer the zoom link not be sent to your work email.
- Part of creating a greater sense of safety for participants will include others knowing who all is on the call. This means that attendees are expected to maintain the privacy of others on the call. We recognize that our local program staff are working in a variety of regional settings, and that each of you will make your own choices about what level of openness feels best for you.
- Ideas from this call may lead to generation of professional development and training resources for local program leaders and staff. For those LGBTQ+ program staff who are unable or don’t feel comfortable joining the call, please reach out to Christy Croft (christy@nccasa) to set up a one-on-one call to discuss any training needs you’d like to see incorporated into professional development opportunities.
