Remember, goals should be:
1. Specific & Measurable- Use specific, measurable terms and avoid being vague (Example: “Get stronger” is vague and un-measurable. This is more specific: “Be able to consistently send 5.11c or V5 on all types of climbing terrain” or “be able to dead hang onto small, ¼ pad crimps for 5 seconds” or "qualify for divisionals".)
2. Reachable- Set a goal that is possible. (Example: It’s impossible to go from V4 to V16 in 4 months.)
3. Challenging- Set a goal that will require hard work, commitment, discipline, and try-hard to reach.
4. Planned- Develop a plan to reach your goal(s). What do you need to do during practice, at home, and at competitions to reach these goals?
5. Time Bound- Your goal should have a reasonable time-limit. Most will be bound by the season.
