You may use the Sanders only after you have completed the Palm and Orbital Sander Safety test and you have been given permission by the technician

Finishing Sander:
- Make sure paper fits (1/4 sheet cut on folds), don’t just tear it, and that # of grit is right for job
- Keep it tight on backing
- Use your safety glasses!
- A mask is recommended
- Hearing protectors are a good idea
- Try and work over down draft table
- Don’t force (bull) the tool
- When paper worn change it or use another area, don’t wear through to backing

Clean up afterwards

Orbital sanders: may leave swirl marks on your work but generally cut faster than the palm
- Make sure paper fits and is of type for the machine ie hook and loop, or contact cement held etc
- Use your safety glasses!
- A mask is recommended
- Hearing protectors are a good idea
- Try and work over down draft table
- Don’t force (bull) the tool
- When paper worn change it or use another area, don’t wear through to backing
