The Foundation Scholarship Application

Below you will find an application for the 2024 Valley Presbyterian Foundation scholarships. SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENTS FOR 2024-25 SCHOOL YEAR MUST REAPPLY.  VPF Scholarship eligibility is based on the criteria below. In addition, please read the guidelines for submitting the application. Please read these prior to filling out the application. Once completed, click Submit on the bottom of the Google form to submit the application.

Eligibility requirements listed below:

Who can apply?
• High school seniors, current undergraduates, graduate students and seminary students
• Students attending college, university, community college or accredited trade schools enrolled in a minimum of 12 credit hours per semester
• VPC Staff

Applicants must:
• Be a member of Valley Presbyterian Church
• Have a minimum of a B average in high school, or a B average in the applicant’s chosen major for currently enrolled students

What types of schools can the scholarship be used for?
• A Presbyterian seminary
• A public or private college, university, community college or accredited trade school

What is the amount of the scholarship?
• Dollar amount dependent upon Foundation distribution policy and number of complete applications received

What can the money be used for?
• Tuition
• Room and board on-campus

What is required of scholarship recipients?
• Recipients must be enrolled in at least twelve credit hours (full-time student) in the academic year during which they receive the scholarship
• Recipients must submit a thank you letter to the scholarship benefactors prior to the end of the academic year describing their spiritual, personal, and academic experiences and growth during the year

Can recipients reapply in successive years?
• Yes, although the application and review process will be competitive for all applicants each year

What is the schedule?
• Applications open March 1
• Applications must be submitted by May 1. Late applications will not be accepted
• Applicants may be called for interviews at the discretion of the committee
• Recipients will be chosen by May 15, with notification emails to be sent shortly thereafter
• Awards will be made in the form of checks payable to the appropriate college, university, seminary or accredited trade school in the student's name

What is required for a completed application?
• Completed online application form, including Statement of Faith
• A copy of the student’s transcript may be requested at the discretion of the Scholarship Team

Who will review the applications and make the awards?
• VPF Scholarship Team (comprised of one Student Ministry elder, one Finance & Operations elder, one Foundation trustee, and Director of Finance)
