Call for Session and Workshop Proposals

Dear Friends and Colleagues,

Join us in inspiring and invigorating our field and ourselves by presenting at the 2023 Mountain Plains Museums Association (MPMA) Annual Conference in Corpus Christi, Texas. The conference is slated for September 27-30, 2023. Located on the sunny Gulf of Mexico, Corpus Christi offers museums, aquariums, beaches, and outdoor adventure. Come let amazing sessions, awesome networking opportunities, the warm sun, the salty sea, and local sights inspire you!

As museum professionals, we passionately collect, preserve, and share culture, reveal stories and create connections, and enhance and enrich experiences. As our work is also a reflection of our ever-changing world, in service of our passion and the purpose of our field, we turn challenges into opportunities, we defy budgets, we conquer obstacles, we spark creative solutions, we lead and we partner. Together we innovate, invigorate, and inspire!

We invite you to spark inspiration for your colleagues and friends by sharing your innovative ideas, solutions and successes, resourceful methods, and creative collaborations. Where do you find professional and personal inspiration and invigoration? Share with your colleagues from across the region. Proposals for workshops and sessions are encouraged that are new, energizing, and applicable to a variety of cultural institutions. Tracks include: collections, education/engagement, administration, small museums, volunteer programs, and others relative to the field. In 2023 we will launch a new “balance” track featuring sessions focusing on self-care, career sustainability, and more. Sessions can be formatted as panel discussions, roundtables, or surprise us!  Workshops may be half or full day in length and provide hands-on resources and experiences for participants. Use this form to submit session and workshop proposals by January 20, 2023 for full consideration.
