The Meeanjin Markets celebrates Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander arts, craft and culture through market stalls, performances and workshops in the heart of Brisbane’s CBD.
 
The two-day festival is South East Queensland’s home of authentic Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander art, music and artisan products, offering locals and visitors the chance to meet, connect and celebrate with Indigenous businesses and community.
 
Presented by an experienced team of Indigenous professionals, The Meeanjin Markets is now a regular highlight on Brisbane’s events calendar.

We are seeking performers and businesses &/or individuals to run workshops during the markets.

*** Performers ***
We are looking for a variety of performers take part in the markets entertainment program. We are keen to showcase both up and coming and established talent. The aim of our music program is to give emerging performers an opportunity to gain knowledge of the Indigenous music scene by working alongside established performers.

*** Workshops ***
Workshops should reflect Indigenous culture through contemporary or traditional means. We offer free workshops to the public, and are looking for all ages activities. In the past we have had toddlers through to grandparents participate in our workshops. Workshops could include story telling, making (eg weaving, painting, craft), dance or music. Whatever you do it needs to be engaging, informative and highlight Indigenous culture to a wide range of people.
