Dear Student,

This form is to request an appointment with a Tutor. Tutoring services are provided to currently enrolled TSTC students throughout all campuses, including our on-line campus.  Tutoring services consist of live, virtual 30-55 minute sessions using different delivery methods including Google Meets, Phone, email, Google Whiteboard, and other tools.  At this time, we provide limited in-person tutoring on the Harlingen Campus ONLY.  You can view the Statewide Tutoring Schedule on our Tutoring Program Portal Page for more details. If you do not see tutoring available for a particular course(s), please complete this form anyway and we will do our best to provide you with online resources and/or find a tutor who may be able to assist you. (Ex. Our English Tutor can help if you're doing an essay for an Education & Training class). We may also refer you back to your instructor.  Please fill out this form and a staff member will email you within 24 business hours, although we do our best to email you sooner than that.  PLEASE NOTE THAT WE DO NOT OFFER TUTORING FOR QUIZZES, EXAMS, MASTERY ASSESSMENTS, OR CAPSTONE COURSES Students caught trying to circumvent this policy will be reported.   If you have any questions, please call the Tutoring Program at 956-364-4557.

PLEASE NOTE: WE ARE NOT OFFERING ANY IN-PERSON TUTORING AT THIS TIME, EXCEPT ON THE HARLINGEN CAMPUS (in limited courses).  HOWEVER, OUR TUTORING SESSIONS ARE LIVE AND IN A VIRTUAL PLATFORM THAT ALLOW THE STUDENT AND THE TUTOR TO ENGAGE AND INTERACT.

Course in which you need tutoring? Please BE AS SPECIFIC AS POSSIBLE to avoid any delays or misunderstandings (Ex. Math 1314 rather than just "Math" or Biol 2301, instead of "Biology.") *
What specifically are you having problems with? (Ex. Essay format, Work Cited Page, Percentages, Cell Respiration, etc., etc.). When students respond that they need help with "Everything" or "ALL" it only hinders the ability of both you and the tutor to better prepare for the tutoring session. Remember: Tutoring sessions last no more than 55 minutes so please be prepared and be as specific as possible with your response below.   *

Please indicate ALL the days and times you are available for tutoring.  For example: Mondays 9 am to 11 am; 1 pm to 3 pm/Tuesday 8 am to 10 am; 3 pm to 5 pm., etc., etc. If you include only one day/time, it may delay your appointment if the tutor is booked for the only day you include in your request. *

Students who repeatedly cancel or reschedule their appointments may lose the opportunity to continue using this service since appointment cancellations can mean that another student could have benefited from receiving tutoring services during your time slot.  We hope you can understand.  We look forward to serving you!

Please go to our Portal pages to access resources on how to use Google Meets, Accept a calendar Invite, Sharing Your Screen, and more. The links are on the right side of the page. YOU WILL NEED A WORKING WEBCAM, MIC, AND SPEAKER FOR A TUTORING SESSION THROUGH GOOGLE MEETS. Thank you!
By submitting this form, you agree to participate in a Tutoring Session via Google Meets, email, phone, or other approved online platform/method.  You also understand that tutoring sessions DO NOT take place in-person, except in a few exceptions at the Harlingen campus.  
A staff member will email you with information about your appointment date and time at the email address you provide.  The tutor will then send you a calendar invitation with a link via email to join them for the tutoring session.  Just click on "Yes" to accept and confirm your appointment.  In doing so, you will receive a reminder with a link to join the session at the appointment time.  Thank you and we look forward to your success this semester!
