2024 USMH Graduation Celebration Student Speaker Nomination

The student speaker(s) serves as the representative for graduating students and celebrates the accomplishments of the graduating class. The student speaker(s) presents an inclusive and inspiring message for the future that honors graduates of all partner university programs.

Nomination Deadline and Information

Nominations must be submitted by April 1 to be considered for the 2024 Graduation Celebration student speaker. Multiple students may be nominated and will be accepted from students in the graduating class, faculty members and program directors.  Self-nominations are welcome as well.

Criteria for Eligibility:

  • Students must be eligible to participate in their home institution Spring 2024 Commencement Ceremony.
  • Demonstrated leadership and/or service involvement while at USMH. This may include significant academic leadership, membership with campus clubs, participation as a mentor/ambassador, or being appointed or elected to a leadership position with a university organization, board or committee.
  • Student must be in good disciplinary standing.

Selection Process:

After nominations are closed, nominees will be asked to complete a short online form affirming their interest in being the student speaker and outlining three to four key points they would like to discuss in their speech.

The student speaker(s) will be selected by a panel comprised of the Executive Director, two USMH staff representatives.  The panel will review all nominees and select up to two (2) student speakers.
